But working with recycled materials comes with a few interesting characteristics and one of those is colour variation.
Why Does Our Grey Sometimes Change?
Our standard grey QUICKBLOCKs are manufactured using recycled polypropylene made up predominantly of post-consumer plastic waste.
Unlike virgin plastic, which can be produced to achieve a highly consistent colour, recycled polypropylene comes from a variety of sources. As the mix of recycled material changes, the natural colour of the finished product can change too.
It's simply part of the recycling process.
We don't have control over the exact mix of colours entering the recycling stream, which means we can't always guarantee precisely the same shade of grey.
But that's part of the beauty of giving waste plastic a second life!
A New Shade of Grey
You may have noticed that our grey QUICKBLOCKs are looking a little different recently.
Our latest recycled material is producing blocks in a slightly darker shade of grey than you may be used to.
While this is a noticeable change from our previous grey, we expect this new shade to remain broadly consistent going forward. Although minor natural variations may still occur due to the recycled content, we're not anticipating significant or continual changes in colour.
In other words, our grey has evolved, but this new shade is here to stay!
